Whenever and wherever you play darts, you will always need a reliable way of keeping score and tracking your results. For many players this is achieved with a chalk or dry-wipe board, but not for much longer – more and more digital darts scoring tools are set to be launched over the next few months to transform the way you play and keep score.

From casual games to serious competitions, you’ll no longer have to worry about scoring errors, missed tallies, or manually calculating your results. These new scoring tools allow you to focus entirely on your throws and take away the margins for error across every single game, so let’s take a look at the new releases that could be changing the way we play darts forever.

Darts scoring apps

If you are fed up with being the one who constantly has to keep track of not only your own scores, but everyone else’s as well, then these apps offer a hassle-free way to accurately track a game.

This digital alternative to manual scorekeeping works by calculating the total number of points that each player earns, so all that you have to do is input your score each round and let the app do the rest. As well as recording the scores of each round they will automatically calculate the overall score for each player and provide real-time updates, meaning that you and your friends can focus on playing without wasting game time or becoming distracted by the changing scores.

Most apps will also automatically determine the winner and give you an average score for the match, the highest score achieved, and the best leg, and depending upon the type of app that you choose, you can also set your game preferences, save and share your scores, and save ongoing games to continue playing later. With a range of options available, including DartCounter and DARTS Scoreboard, you and your fellow players can try out the different options and find the app that best works for you.

Manual darts scoring system

Dartmate Darts Scorer

With a range that includes the Standard, Match, and Elite scorer, these electronic scorers are a reliable game tool for players who are looking to make scorekeeping much quicker and easier. Whilst these devices still require you to manually input the score, they track the scores for you and calculate the ongoing results as you play to reduce the possibility of any scoring errors.

Perfect for both amateur and competitive players of all abilities, Dartsmate scorers are a must-have for your next game to keep your focus off the scores and on the game.

Automatic darts scoring system

Whilst these systems have been around for a few years, there are several new releases that have redefined the standard for precision and reliability. As the dart community continues to push for greater accuracy in both professional and home games, let’s take a look at what these systems offer:

Target Omni

Looking for something truly innovative? The Omni auto scoring system, launched in April of this year, leaves behind any inconsistencies or errors associated with manually inputting scores by automatically recording each throw.

By using precision cameras and a powerful processing unit, the system registers the exact area of the board that each dart hits and automatically records the result for you. So, you and your fellow player can enjoy the game without ever having to interact with the scorer – or having to keep an eye on everyone else’s scores to prevent cheating!

With these real-time tracking features and instant scoring updates throughout the game, the Omni scorer brings a new level of automated convenience to the sport and is a game-changer for all dart enthusiasts. So, do away with your old chalkboard and make room in your setup for these digital scorers.
